
INTRODUCTION
The intent of the Bay Oaks Training Guide is to be one of help
and assistance to our coaches. You will find ideas and recommendations
on how to run a practice and train your players.
My hope is that through this training guide we can establish
a common method as to how our teams and players are trained.
Obviously, the way we train our 10 and 11 year old players is
different than the way we train our 17 and 18 year olds. However,
I do believe that we need to have similarities in training methods
no matter what age group you coach. I also believe that we can
demand specific training habits from our players whether they
are 10 or 18 years old.
Material in this guide has been taken out of various coaching
resources: the US Soccer Coaching Schools, the NSCAA Coaching
Schools, the KNVB, the English FA, the AFC AJAX Soccer Schools,
FC Boulder training program, Bob Ganslers' Player and Coaching
Development program, and Weil Coerver training methods, and
many more.
All aspects of the game can be found in this guide and I hope
that you will make good use of the material.
