for Bay Oaks and JLYSSL Coaches
INTRODUCTION
The intent of the Bay Oaks Training Guide is to be one of help
and assistance to our Bay Oaks coaches and coaches from our league's member clubs. You will find ideas and recommendations
on how to run a practice and train your players.
Our goal is that this training guide, in combination with our monthly coaches clinics and coach mentoring program, helps establish
a common method as to how our teams and players are trained.
The club’s training method has an emphasis on individual technical training at the younger age groups (U9-U11) to a team oriented training method for the U12-U14 age-groups and to eventually emphasize tactical training methods for the older age-groups (U15-U19).
Material in this guide has been taken out of various coaching resources: the US Soccer Federation (USSF) Coaching Schools’ Player Development Guidelines and Best-Practices for Soccer Coaches, the NSCAA Coaching Schools, the Dutch KNVB Coach Education, the English FA, the AFC AJAX Soccer Schools, FC Boulder training program, Bob Ganslers' Player and Coaching Development program, Coerver training methods and many more. The first collection was started by former Coaching Director Andy Bonchonsky and we’re continually evolving this collection of best-practices in coaching, to develop our own Bay Oaks style of play.
All aspects of the game can be found in this guide and I hope
that you will make good use of the material.
Good Luck!
